How many body contouring sessions do I actually need?

Realistic session counts by goal — tummy, waist, glutes, skin firming, postpartum — and what makes the number go up or down.

This is the question we answer at every assessment, and the honest answer is a range, not a single number. What follows is what we actually see in clinic, so you can plan and budget before you start.

Typical session counts by goal

Tummy and lower belly fat

8 to 12 sessions of cavitation with RF, twice a week. Most clients see the first measurable change by session 4 and the clear difference by session 8. Lower belly is the slowest area on the body — plan for the upper end of that range.

Waist definition

6 to 10 sessions of wood therapy with cavitation. Re-definition usually shows from session 4 to 6, which is why we measure every fourth session rather than weekly.

Glute lift and cellulite

8 sessions of vacuum and wood therapy over four weeks, then maintenance. Shape changes are usually visible from around session 6.

Skin firming — tummy, arms, thighs

1 to 3 HIFU sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, or a course of 6 to 8 RF sessions. HIFU keeps working after the session because collagen rebuilds over three to six months, so the final result is later than the last appointment.

Face and jawline, double chin

1 to 3 HIFU sessions depending on how much fullness there is, reviewed at month three.

Postpartum recovery

A 12-week programme rather than a session count, because the tummy needs fat reduction, skin retraction and lymphatic work in a specific order. Visible change is normally clear by week six.

What makes the number go up

  • More than one area treated at the same time.
  • Fibrous, long-standing fat — it breaks down more slowly than soft fat.
  • Loose skin as well as fat, which means adding a skin-firming modality.
  • Irregular attendance. Sessions spaced too far apart lose momentum.
  • Under two litres of water a day — released fat has to be flushed out.
  • Very low protein intake, which slows skin retraction.

What makes the number go down

  • Two sessions a week instead of one.
  • A single, clearly defined target area.
  • Pairing contouring with lymphatic drainage.
  • Walking or any movement between sessions.
  • A stable weight while you go through the course.

Spacing, and why it matters

Cavitation and wood therapy work best twice a week with at least 48 hours between sessions on the same area. RF is weekly. HIFU needs four to six weeks between sessions because collagen is still rebuilding. Booking everything closer together does not speed results up — it just costs more.

We would rather sell you eight sessions that work than twenty that you stop attending by week three.

Single sessions versus a programme

A single session gives you de-bloating and a taste of the treatment. It will not change your shape. If your goal is a measurable difference, budget for the course from the start — memberships and programmes work out considerably cheaper per session than paying one at a time.

Frequently asked

How many sessions before I see anything?

Most clients notice de-bloating and a slightly looser waistband within the first few days, and the first measurable centimetre change by session four.

How many cavitation sessions for the belly?

Eight to twelve, twice a week, usually paired with RF for the skin. Lower belly generally needs the upper end of that range.

Can I book two sessions in one day?

Not on the same area. Fat cells need at least 48 hours to clear between cavitation sessions. We can treat two different areas on the same visit.

How many HIFU sessions do I need?

One to three, four to six weeks apart. Collagen continues rebuilding for three to six months, so the final result comes after your last appointment.

Do I need maintenance after the course?

Most clients keep results with one session every six to eight weeks, which is what our memberships are built around.
