What to Eat Around Your Body Contouring Sessions (Nairobi Guide)
16 June 2026
Body contouring works. But the clients who get the strongest, fastest, longest-lasting results at our Nairobi clinic are the ones who pair their program with the right nutrition. Not a crash diet — just sensible eating that supports your body in processing the fat released during treatment.
Why nutrition matters with cavitation
Cavitation ruptures fat cells. The released fat travels through your lymphatic system and liver, where it is processed and removed. Hydration, protein and clean eating make that process efficient. Sugar, alcohol and fried food slow it down — sometimes enough to stall your results.
The simple rules around treatment days
24 hours before
Drink at least 2.5–3 litres of water. Skip alcohol completely. Avoid heavy fried meals — your liver should be free to process the fat released during your session, not last night's nyama choma.
Day of treatment
Eat light — fruit, vegetables, lean protein. Avoid coffee right before your session (it can intensify the sensation). Keep water on you and sip throughout the day.
48–72 hours after
This is when the released fat is being flushed. Keep water high, alcohol at zero, sugar minimal. A 20-minute walk the day after a cavitation session genuinely helps lymph flow.
What to eat for the whole program
Lean protein, every meal
Eggs, fish, chicken, beans, lentils, greek yoghurt. Protein helps your skin retract as fat reduces, and keeps you full so the program does not trigger cravings.
Real Kenyan vegetables, daily
Sukuma, spinach, terere, kunde, cabbage. Cheap, available everywhere, and the fibre supports gut and lymphatic function.
Smart carbs, not zero carbs
Brown ugali, sweet potatoes, githeri, brown rice in normal portions. Cutting carbs completely will tank your energy through a 10-week program — not worth it.
Healthy fats
Avocado, peanuts, omega-3 from fish. Supports hormones and skin elasticity — both critical when reshaping the body.
What to cut back on
- Sugary drinks (sodas, juices, flavoured yoghurts) — single biggest results killer
- Alcohol — slows fat processing for up to 48 hours per drinking session
- Deep-fried foods — extra load on the liver during treatment weeks
- Highly processed snacks — chips, biscuits, packaged crisps
Hydration: the single most underrated factor
If you only change one thing during your program, change your water. 3 litres a day, every day. Lymphatic drainage and cavitation results depend on it more than any food choice.
You don't need a diet plan — you need to eat like an adult who respects what the treatment is doing. Real food, enough protein, real water.

Frequently asked
No. Most clients see strong results just by improving hydration, cutting sugary drinks and alcohol, and eating enough protein. No meal plan required.
Best avoided in the 48 hours around each session. Moderate social drinking on other days is fine — it just slows progress slightly.
The fat cells removed during cavitation are gone. New fat can deposit in untreated areas if you significantly over-eat — sensible eating keeps your results.
